Maintenance Assistant

Position Summary Ellen Memorial is seeking a reliable Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff. This role supports daily facility operations through general repairs, preventive maintenance, and grounds upkeep within a Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care setting. Key Responsibilities Perform general building maintenance and repairs Painting, wall repair, and window repair Basic plumbing (fixture repair/replacement) Basic carpentry (handrails, drawers, hardware) Light fixture and bulb replacement Electrical outlet/switch plate repair Heating and cooling system support Call system and general equipment repair Preventive maintenance on facility and medical equipment Maintain maintenance logs and service records Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner Conduct routine safety inspections Grounds Maintenance: Mowing and weed control Debris removal Flower bed upkeep Exterior painting and pressure washing Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Maintenance experience preferred Experience in Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care a plus Knowledge of building repairs and preventive maintenance Valid Driver’s License required Skills & Abilities Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to follow safety and compliance standards Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 35 lbs Frequent bending, kneeling, and standing Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures Why Join Ellen Memorial LLC?
