Job Title: Data Architect / Data Manager Location: Suitland, MD, Hybrid ~ up to 3 days in-office per month and 10-15% travel outside of the Washington, DC metropolitan area Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Description (scope of work) IBSS is seeking a Data Architect / Data Manager to provide expertise for the development of a data repository, especially in database design, data formats and tagging, metadata management, and cost-effective access, ingest, storage, and retrieval protocols for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Office of Space Commerce (OSC). Key Responsibilities: Work with OSC staff and System Integrator contractor staff in the development of data architecture. Provide technical program support to include, but not limited to, stakeholder engagement, data management, and reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both technical and nontechnical. Major team player, collaborator, role model, and mentor other team members Passion to exceed expectations and constantly push the envelope. Demonstrated skills of technical rigor and data-driven decision-making. Required Skills /Education/ Certifications & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related scientific discipline preferred. Expert knowledge of Data Services Solid understanding of Product development in relation to Data Architecture and Requirements Gathering. Experience in data formats and tagging, metadata management, and access, ingest, storage, and retrieval protocols. Solid working knowledge of Data Modeling, Database design. Previous experience with data storage tools - Postgresql, Mongo, S3 Experience with Agile development is required. Provide technical program support to include, but not limited to, stakeholder engagement, data management, and reporting. Previous experience designing Data Lake Solutions in AWS / Cloud Ability to work independently and with a team NiFi, Spring, Docker Containers, Kubernetes experience Understanding the following languages and software: C++, Java, Microsoft product suite. DevOps experience Desired, but not Mandatory, Skills: Master's degree in space science, engineering, or related scientific disciplineOrganizational experience with one or more of the following: DoD (USSF, USAF, USN, USA), FAA, NASA, DoC, NESDIS, NOAA. Experience with Space Object Catalog and Orbital Dynamics Knowledge of Satellite Ephemeris and Conjunction Data Message Generation Current or previous security clearance/ background investigation preferred About IBSS Corp.
