NCDOT - Front End Web Designer/Developer 2

Overview NCDIT-T WEB Systems Team is seeking a Front End Web Designer/Developer that will support the ongoing UX design and front-end development and support needs for enterprise web application and web site solutions developed for NCDOT and NCDMV. These solution requests from business users are outpacing capacity and are needed to support business processes like SharePoint reporting, ServiceNow design, SAP design, and Drupal Digital Commons work for NCDOT Ferry automations, and NCDMV requests. The primary focus is to build and support accessible web UI components and support user experience consistency across enterprise web solutions. Role / Responsibilities Collect equipment on the first day by coming on-site. Create, update, and refresh web component and user interface prototypes. Build HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript in accessible ways for content management systems and enterprise products. Work cross-team across NCDIT Transportation to bring user interface consistency. Perform training sessions/webinars for NCDOT business customers on created apps/sites/tools. Provide support for on-site attendance when business needs warrant in person participation, such as scheduled meetings or other task specific activities. Qualifications / Skills JavaScript and TypeScript proficiency – 5+ years (required). Vue.js – 3+ years (required). Vite for modern build tooling – 3+ years (desired). State management with signals or reactive stores – 4+ years (required). Web performance optimization – 3+ years (required). Design systems and component library architecture – 3+ years (desired). Accessibility (WCAG 2.2+) best practices – 3+ years (required). User experience design – 3+ years (required). Integration with systems like SAP, ServiceNow, SharePoint, etc. – 4+ years (required). AI-assisted development and workflow automation – 1+ year (required). Website accessibility testing – 4+ years (required). Semantic HTML structure and accessibility foundations – 5+ years (required). Modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid, variables, theming) – 5+ years (required). Requirements Local to the Triangle region of North Carolina. Candidate must be able to attend an in-person interview.
