Residential Counselor - Youth I/DD

JOB SUMMARY:The Residential Counselor – Youth I/DD provides therapeutic residential support to youths with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities. The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities and provide behavioral support in a group home setting.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Orients newly admitted clientsPlans, leads and supervises client activitiesProvides positive behavioral supports on a daily basisProvides direct supervision in a group home settingProvides input into assessments, conferences and treatment planningFacilitates community integration through focused recreational activitiesProvides pre-vocational skills training as indicated based on client needsCollects and records data, and completes all required documentationProvides transportation as needed and accompanies clients to and from appointmentsResponsible for ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment and adhering to all safety standards, Federal and State regulations, and corporate policiesEDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience working with I/DD individuals in a group setting, ORAssociate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field unrelated to social work/psychology and six (6) months' experience working with I/DD individuals in a group setting, ORAssociate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or related fieldValid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving recordExcellent interpersonal and communications skillsAbility to demonstrate respect for children/adolescents and their familiesSALARY: $19.10 to $20.39 per hour based on experience and education.#INDPR2EEO STATEMENT:We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
