Phlebotomist PositionWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team in a fast-paced Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike setting. This role is essential in supporting patient care through accurate specimen collection, processing, and coordination with laboratory services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse patient populations, and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populationsVerify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of all specimensPrepare and process specimens, including proper handling, centrifugation (spinning), aliquoting, and packaging for transportMaintain knowledge of specimen requirements (e.g., tube types, order of draw, handling conditions)Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)Follow all infection control, OSHA, and safety protocolsMonitor and maintain adequate inventory of phlebotomy and lab suppliesProperly store specimens and coordinate pickup or delivery to external laboratories as neededAssist with point-of-care testing as applicableMaintain cleanliness and organization of lab and draw areasProvide excellent patient care by explaining procedures and addressing concerns with professionalism and empathyCollaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient patient flowKeep accurate records on specimens and testsAdhere to all relevant health and safety standards while workingActing as a liaison between MCHC and lab processing companyMaintain compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulationsPosition DetailsSchedule:Monday through Friday availability, 9 am - 5 pmSaturdays also available (6 hour shift), 9 am - 3 pmExperience and EducationRequiredPhlebotomist CertificationProven experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy TechnicianExperience with effective puncture techniquesUnderstanding of proper patient identification methodsKnowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling samples and use of relevant medical equipment and materialAbility to use computers to enter informationExcellent communication skillsAttention to detailAbility to connect with various types of patients (such as children, elderly, pregnant women) and make them feel comfortablePatience and presence of mindFamiliarity with medical terminology and proceduresCertification:Phlebotomist (Required)Preferred SkillsProficiency in one or more of the following languages: Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Karen, Rohingya, Burmese etc. is a plusProficiency in EPIC EMRFamiliarity with Labcorp is a plusPreferred Experience:Phlebotomy: 2 years (Preferred)EMR systems: 2 years (Preferred)Medical terminology: 2 years (Preferred)Why Join Us?
