Fleet Supervisor

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Vocational/Technical school or apprenticeship in automotive repair or a related field required.Current ASE certifications required.Minimum of three (3) years of experience in fleet maintenance, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or lead role preferred.Experience with Ford and Chevy diesel engine diagnostics and repair highly preferred.Must be 21 years of age or older.Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen to the satisfaction of the organization.Essential Functions of the PositionSupervise and coordinate the work of fleet technicians and support staff involved in vehicle maintenance and repair.Schedule and assign maintenance and repair activities to ensure minimal disruption to operational readiness.Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on vehicles as needed, including ambulances, heavy equipment, trailers, and other motor vehicles in EMSA's fleetProvide guidance and technical assistance on complex repair tasks.Monitor and ensure the accuracy of vehicle repair and maintenance records in accordance with departmental procedures.Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and equipment necessary for fleet operations; coordinate purchasing with the Logistics and Fleet Manager.Conduct quality assurance checks on completed work to ensure standards of safety and reliability are met.Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs and standard operating procedures.Coordinate mobile repairs when feasible to reduce vehicle downtime.Conduct routine inspections and assessments of fleet vehicles for safety, performance, and compliance.Support training and development of fleet personnel, including mentoring and skill development.Ensure adherence to all safety policies, environmental standards, and vehicle operation procedures.Prepare and submit regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance status, and technician productivity.Manage and coordinate transporting special equipment, such as carts and off-road vehicles, to and from venues as needed for special events.Punctuality and regular, predictable, reliable, consistent attendance is essential.
