Job Description System & Network AdministratorPosition OverviewTotal Mortgage is seeking a highly skilled System & Network Administrator to support and manage our hybrid IT environment across on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable, secure, and efficient systems, with a strong emphasis on Ubiquiti UniFi networking, virtualization platforms, Windows/Linux systems, and Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Azure.You will play a critical role in both day-to-day operations and long-term infrastructure improvements, working closely with internal teams and external vendors.Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Systems AdministrationManage and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems, including patching, performance tuning, and troubleshootingAdminister virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar), including provisioning, monitoring, and optimizationPerform user and group management, permissions administration, and Group Policy configurationInstall, configure, and maintain file shares, multi-user applications, and other networked resourcesNetwork Administration (UniFi Focus)Design, configure, and manage Ubiquiti UniFi network infrastructure, including:Gateways, switches, and wireless access pointsVLANs, VPNs, and firewall rulesMonitor network performance, availability, and securityTroubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN/WAN environmentsMaintain routers, switches, firewalls, access points, printers, and VoIP systemsCloud & Identity (Microsoft 365 / Azure / Entra)Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)Manage Entra ID (Azure AD) including identity lifecycle, Conditional Access, and MFASupport Azure infrastructure and hybrid integrationsImplement and maintain security controls including access policies and device complianceSecurity, Compliance & Cybersecurity AuditingPerform and support cybersecurity and compliance audits across systems, networks, and cloud platformsConduct and document disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing, including backup validation and recovery exercisesAssist with or coordinate penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, ensuring timely remediationMonitor systems for adherence to security policies, standards, and regulatory requirementsParticipate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategiesMaintain audit documentation and provide evidence for internal/external reviewsSupport and improve security posture, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actionsAssist in responding to security incidents, including account compromise or network intrusionSupport & OperationsProvide Tier 2/3 technical support in coordination with helpdesk teamsTroubleshoot complex issues across systems, networks, and cloud environmentsPartner with vendors for installations, upgrades, and escalationsDocumentation & Continuous ImprovementCreate and maintain documentation including:Network diagrams and configurationsSystem architecture and standard operating proceduresAssist in infrastructure design, improvements, and scalability planningResearch and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practicesRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience in system and network administrationHands-on experience with Ubiquiti UniFi networking solutionsStrong knowledge of:Windows Server environmentsLinux system administrationVirtualization platforms (Xen, Hyper-V, or similar)Experience managing Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (Azure AD)Solid understanding of:Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing)Security concepts and access control modelsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS)Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting/automation toolsExperience with backup and disaster recovery solutionsKnowledge of endpoint management (Intune or similar)Exposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, NIST, or CIS benchmarksRelevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, or networking certifications)Key SkillsStrong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skillsExcellent documentation and organizational abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentClear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersHours for position:M-F 9am-5pmThis position may require frequent additional hours, at times on a daily basis; must be available to work additional hours on short notice as determined by management to meet customer service requirements.ConclusionThis job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job.
