As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts—to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment.You will be part of an environment that values technical quality, rapid iteration, and creative problem-solving.Camera Hardware Integration Engineer Responsibilities:Lead the electrical development of highly complex systems or multiple subsystems, driving technical direction and architectureDefine and drive electrical architecture, system integration, and technical strategy for major projectsLead cross-functional design reviews, resolve technical conflicts, and ensure alignment across engineering disciplinesDrive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies, processes, or methodologies to improve system/product performance, reliability, and featuresOversee hardware bring-up, debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, deployment, or operational readiness at scaleEvaluate and influence vendor and partner solutions, ensuring alignment with Meta’s requirements and long-term strategyMentor and coach engineers at all levelsOperate autonomously, set direction for teams, and manage priorities across multiple projects or workstreamsCollaborate globally across distributed teams, influencing cross-organization initiatives and technical strategyChampion operational clarity, compliance, and specialized requirements, driving continuous improvement and best practicesMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent industry experience8+ years of experience in electrical design, including system-level architecture and integrationDemonstrated technical leadership in at least one electrical engineering domain (e.g., power, display, sensors, infrastructure, high-speed interfaces, analog/mixed-signal)Documented experience delivering products or systems from concept through prototyping, validation, and mass production or large-scale deploymentExperience leading cross-functional engineering teams and mentoring engineersProficiency with industry-standard design, simulation, and analysis tools (e.g., Cadence, Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, or similar)Experience communicating technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., design reviews, technical specifications, project updates)Preferred Qualifications:12+ years of industry experience in electrical designConsumer electronics experience and/or working within a mass-production environmentExperience integrating complex camera subsystems into system-level hardware platformsExperience with end-to-end development of camera module electrical subsystem, system integration, and validation from the concept phase to mass productionDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience with HW-SW integrationExperience working with CM/JDM manufacturing partners, including design reviews, test bring-up, build support and failure analysisExperience with circuit design across analog, digital, power, and communications domainsDemonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Experience with high-speed interfaces, signal integrity analysis, EMI trade-offs, or thermal validation in compact, power-constrained wearable form factorsAbout Meta:Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
