Director – M&A Due Diligence (Independent Contractor)Location: United States (Remote)Travel Requirements: As required to client locationsFront-End Leadership Role | High-Growth PlatformAbout Creston Advisory GroupCreston Advisory Group advises private equity funds and strategic acquirers across the full M&A lifecycle, providing support in commercial, operational, and IT due diligence, as well as post-merger integration and value creation initiatives.Creston is engaging a Director (Independent Contractor) to support and lead complex M&A due diligence engagements on a project or portfolio basis.This is a front-end leadership role focused on owning client relationships, leading transactions end-to-end, and driving revenue growth. You will operate as a trusted advisor to investors and executives, shaping deal strategy, identifying value creation opportunities, and delivering actionable insights across the transaction lifecycle.This role is designed for experienced leaders looking to expand their impact across deal origination, client leadership, and practice building. Note: This is a contract-based role.What You’ll Lead· Drive business development, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and closing new work· Own and lead integration and carve-out strategy with clear execution governance· Own end-to-end standalone, synergy, IT, and commercial diligence engagements· Lead investor and board-level discussions with confidence and clarity· Identify risks, quantify synergies, and define value creation strategy· Build, mentor, and scale high-performing deal teams· Contribute to the growth of the US practice, including offerings development and go-to-market strategyWhat We’re Looking For· 8–10 years of experience in consulting, M&A, or transaction advisory· Strong track record of leading large, complex due diligence engagements· Demonstrated ability to own senior client relationships and drive revenue growth· Deep understanding of financial, operational, and technology drivers in M&A transactions· Experience working with private equity clients and cross-functional deal teams· Proven leadership in team building, coaching, and developing talent· Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and confidentlyCompensation· Compensation will be competitive with top-tier consulting and transaction advisory firms, aligned with experience and leadership capability.· Compensation will be structured as contractor fees (e.g., per engagement, retainer, or success-based components)· Payments will be made against invoices in accordance with agreed terms· Contractor is not eligible for employee benefitsEngagement Structure (Independent Contractor)· This is an independent contractor engagement and does not create an employer–employee relationship· Contractor will provide services on a project, retainer, or deal basis, as mutually agreed· Contractor retains discretion over how services are performed, subject to agreed deliverables and timelines· Contractor is free to provide services to other clients, provided no conflict of interest exists· Contractor is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes and compliance obligationsWhy Creston· Exposure to high-impact transactions with leading private equity and corporate clients· Opportunity to play a key role in shaping and scaling the Deals practice in the US· Leadership responsibility with direct influence on client outcomes and firm growth.
