Billing Coordinator
Location: Boston, MA | On-site 5 daysSalary Range: $65K-$75K | Non-exempt | Bonus EligibleSchedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 9-5About the RoleA respected law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Coordinator to support its legal accounting and billing operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment and enjoys managing processes related to legal billing, invoicing, and financial reporting.The Billing Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely law firm billing, collaborating with attorneys, finance staff, and administrative teams to maintain efficient billing workflows.Key QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s degree preferred2+ years of billing experience, ideally in legal billing or professional services billingStrong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and accountabilityAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skillsComfortable collaborating with attorneys, accounting teams, and administrative staff at all levelsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft OfficeExperience with legal billing software such as Elite or Aderant is a plusResponsibilitiesMonitor and process daily billing workflow tickets and respond promptly and professionallyCoordinate with internal departments to ensure legal services are billed accurately and on timeResearch, resolve, and respond to billing discrepancies, escalating issues when necessaryReview, edit, and finalize pre-bills and proformas in response to attorney and client requestsProcess billing adjustments, including write-ups, write-downs, and invoice correctionsMaintain and update client and matter billing profiles, including rate changes and billing exceptionsUpdate client and matter records, including address updates and matter closuresAssist with e-billing processes, including invoice creation, submission, and tracking approval statusesSupport preparation of monthly proformas and client statements, including printing, sorting, and distributionPrepare monthly IOLTA reports and apply retainer funds as directed by attorneysGenerate financial reports for management, attorneys, and practice leaders related to billings, accounts receivable (AR), and work in progress (WIP)Provide administrative and accounting support to the finance team, including filing and cross-functional backup when neededGrow Your CareerIf you are a detail-oriented professional with experience in legal billing, billing coordination, or accounting operations, we encourage you to apply.
