Cashier
Position Summary The POS / Cashier is responsible for welcoming guests, taking accurate orders, processing payments, and supporting efficient counter and to-go service. This role requires warmth, menu knowledge, accuracy, and the ability to create a smooth guest experience from order through payment. The POS / Cashier is a key guest-facing position and helps set the tone for friendly, efficient service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Service and Order Entry · Greet guests warmly and assist with menu questions, recommendations, and order decisions. · Take accurate dine-in, takeout, and delivery orders using the POS system. · Confirm modifiers, allergies, special requests, and order details before submission. · Communicate clearly with guests and team members to support smooth service. · Assist with guest questions, concerns, and order follow-up as needed. Cash Handling and Counter Operations · Process cash, credit card, gift card, and other payments accurately. · Follow all cash handling, discount, comp, and void procedures. · Maintain an organized, clean, and well-stocked counter area. · Package and hand off takeout orders accurately and efficiently. · Support online, phone, and third-party order flow as assigned. Team Support and Standards · Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, promotions, and company procedures. · Assist with stocking, side work, opening, and closing responsibilities. · Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. · Work cooperatively with FOH and BOH team members. · Other areas as required by the unique nature of the restaurant and the position. Qualifications · Previous cashier, POS, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience preferred. · Strong guest service, communication, and attention to detail. · Ability to use POS systems and handle payments accurately. · Ability to work quickly and calmly in a fast-paced environment. · Reliable, organized, and team-oriented. · Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical and Work Requirements · Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. · Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. · Ability to bend, reach, and work at a counter station for extended periods. · Work performed in a restaurant environment with varying noise levels, guest traffic, and service pace.
