AWS DevOps Engineer

AWS DevOps EngineerWe are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team in Scottsdale, Arizona. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and GitHub Runners, with a proven ability to build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.The candidate should also have experience working with AWS database and streaming services, particularly Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB, and Kinesis. This role requires someone who is comfortable working closely with development and infrastructure teams to automate deployments, improve reliability, and troubleshoot production environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.Manage and maintain GitHub repositories, workflows, permissions, branching strategies, and integrations.Configure, manage, and troubleshoot GitHub-hosted and self-hosted runners.Build and maintain scalable and secure DevOps infrastructure within AWS.Automate application builds, testing, deployments, and infrastructure provisioning.Integrate GitHub Actions with AWS services and implement secure authentication mechanisms such as AWS IAM and GitHub OIDC.Develop reusable GitHub Actions workflows and improve pipeline performance and reliability.Monitor CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot failed builds, deployments, and infrastructure issues.Work with Amazon Aurora for deployment, configuration, monitoring, performance, and operational support.Support applications using Amazon DynamoDB, including configuration, monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting.Work with Amazon Kinesis for streaming data workloads and troubleshoot data ingestion/processing issues.Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.Implement AWS monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational best practices using services such as CloudWatch.Apply security best practices across AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, architects, and other infrastructure teams.Participate in incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production support.Continuously improve deployment automation, system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.Required SkillsStrong hands-on experience with GitHub.Strong experience with GitHub Actions.Hands-on experience configuring and managing GitHub Runners.Experience with self-hosted GitHub Actions runners is highly preferred.Strong understanding of GitHub Actions workflow YAML.Experience with CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and troubleshooting.Experience with Git branching, pull requests, code reviews, and repository management.Experience integrating GitHub Actions with AWS.Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including:AWS Data Services – Must Have Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon KinesisExperience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.Strong scripting skills using Shell/Bash and/or Python.Experience automating infrastructure and operational processes.Experience with Docker and containerized applications is a plus.Kubernetes/EKS experience is a plus.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related infrastructure roles.AWS certification such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional is a plus.Experience working in enterprise-scale AWS environments.Experience implementing secure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and AWS.Experience with ephemeral or scalable self-hosted GitHub runners is a strong plus. AWS specifically documents scalable and ephemeral approaches for GitHub Actions runners on AWS.
