We currently offer over 600 clinically relevant medical devices to healthcare providers, including testing and treatment options, as well as an innovative suite of assisted reproductive technology and genomic testing solutions.ResponsibilitiesThe Federal Sales Specialist is responsible for developing and expanding CooperSurgical's business within U.S. Federal Government healthcare accounts, including VA, DoD, and other federal agencies. This role drives compliant sales of CooperSurgical's women's health, fertility, and surgical solutions by managing federal accounts, identifying new opportunities, and supporting the full sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through contract award.The Federal Sales Specialist partners cross-functionally with internal sales, contracts, regulatory, and marketing teams to ensure alignment with federal procurement requirements, FDA regulations, and CooperSurgical compliance standards. Success in this role requires strong knowledge of federal healthcare procurement, the ability to build trusted relationships with clinical and contracting stakeholders, and a strategic, customer-focused approach to selling within complex government environments.Essential Functions & Accountabilities:Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities within U.S. Federal Government healthcare accounts, including VA, DoD, IHS, and federal civilian agenciesManage the full federal sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through contract award and post-award supportPresent CooperSurgical's women's health, fertility, and surgical solutions to federal clinical and procurement stakeholdersServe as the primary point of contact for assigned federal healthcare accountsDevelop and execute strategic federal account plans aligned with agency missions and budgetsBuild and maintain trusted relationships with clinicians, contracting officers, program managers, and procurement teamsSupport RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs by providing sales input, customer intelligence, and product positioningCollaborate with internal Contracts, Pricing, Regulatory, Legal, CooperSurgical field sales, corporate accounts, channel partners and Marketing teams to ensure compliant submissionsEnsure all sales activities align with FAR, agency-specific regulations, FDA requirements, and CooperSurgical policiesMust already possess and maintain all credentialing, background clearances, and access authorizations required to enter U.S. military installations and federal healthcare facilitiesMaintain continuous eligibility for access to DoD, VA, and other federal sites, including compliance with installation-specific security, identification, and training requirementsComply with all applicable access protocols to support on-site meetings, sales activities, and clinical engagementsAccountabilities:Achieving assigned federal sales targets and revenue goalsGrowing a qualified and sustainable federal opportunity pipelineExpanding CooperSurgical's footprint across federal healthcare agenciesExecuting all sales activities in compliance with federal regulations, FDA requirements, and company policiesProtecting CooperSurgical from regulatory, pricing, and contractual riskEnsuring accuracy and integrity of all customer, contract, and pricing dataMaintaining strong, professional relationships with federal customersSupporting positive customer experiences before and after contract awardRepresenting CooperSurgical's brand, values, and mission with integrityTimely and accurate reporting of sales activities, forecasts, and account updatesEffective coordination across internal teams to support federal customersContinuous improvement of federal sales processes and account strategiesTravel:Around 25%-50% per yearQualificationsQualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of U.S. Federal Government healthcare procurement processes, including VA, DoD, and other federal agency purchasing environmentsUnderstanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and applicable agency-specific procurement requirementsFDA-regulated medical device and diagnostic sales requirements, including compliance and quality considerationsSupporting proposal development for RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs within regulated environmentsCoordinating cross-functionally with contracts, pricing, regulatory, marketing, and compliance teamsRepresenting CooperSurgical's women's health, fertility, and surgical solutions professionally in clinical and governmental settingsManage multiple accounts and priorities while meeting deadlines and compliance requirementsMaintain existing credentialing and access authorization required to enter U.S. military bases and federal healthcare facilitiesAbility to travel to and work safely within military installations and federal healthcare environmentsIntermediate skill in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPointWork Environment:Hybrid/Office basedRole will require prolonged sitting in front of a computerExperience:Minimum of 37 years of experience in federal sales, government contracting, or healthcare/medical device salesEducation:Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.Must already possess and maintain all credentialing, background clearances, and access authorizations required to enter U.S. military installations and federal healthcare facilitiesAs an employee of CooperSurgical, you'll receive an outstanding total compensation plan. The actual base pay includes many factors, and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
