Location: UBMD Primary Care – 850 Hopkins Road, Buffalo, NYSchedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with 2–3 evening shifts per month (12:30–8:30 PM)Pay Range: $17.00–$19.00/hourStatus: Full-Time, Non-ExemptAA/EOEAbout The RoleUBMD Primary Care is seeking skilled, patient‑focused Patient Services Representatives (PSRs) to join our busy outpatient clinic. This role is ideal for someone who excels at communication, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and enjoys helping patients feel supported from the moment they walk in.What You’ll DoIn this role, you’ll use your communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills to ensure a smooth and positive patient experience. Responsibilities include:Greeting and checking patients in and outManaging a high volume of phone calls and directing inquiries appropriatelyVerifying insurance coverage and updating patient informationScheduling appointments and coordinating referralsCollecting copays and completing daily payment balancingProviding general customer service and administrative supportAssisting with prior authorizations, imaging requests, and follow‑up tasksMaintaining accuracy and confidentiality in all patient interactionsSupporting clinic operations by following HIPAA, OSHA, and PCMH standardsCore SkillsSkills That Lead to Success:Strong communication and customer‑service abilitiesComfort navigating EMR systems (EPIC or similar)Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environmentAccuracy in data entry and payment handlingProblem‑solving and resourcefulnessProfessionalism and reliabilityTechnical SkillsEMR proficiencyInsurance verificationAppointment schedulingMulti‑line phone systemsBasic office technology (faxing, copying, scanning)QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred1–2 years of experience in a medical office or customer‑service settingExperience with EMR systems and Healthenet strongly preferredKnowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans helpfulProficiency with Microsoft Office preferredWork EnvironmentFast‑paced, well‑lit outpatient clinicFrequent sitting, standing, talking, and computer useLight lifting up to 15 lbsRegular, predictable attendance requiredMay occasionally travel to other UBMD Primary Care locationsAdditional InformationEmployment is contingent upon a successful background check and drug screen.
