Controls EngineerLocation: Plano, TXSalary: Up to $140,000 base + benefitsIndustry: Automation, Controls & Systems IntegrationThe OpportunityWe are working with an established Houston-based automation and systems integration company that is looking to add an experienced Controls Engineer to their growing team in Plano, Texas.This is an excellent opportunity for a Controls Engineer who enjoys being involved in the full project lifecycle, from controls design and programming through to testing, commissioning and startup.The company works across a wide range of automation and controls projects, including E-Houses, Data Centers and Oil & Gas, offering the opportunity to work on large-scale, technically challenging projects across a variety of industries.The RoleAs a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, programming and implementation of industrial control systems.You'll work closely with Project Managers, other Controls Engineers, customers and site teams to deliver automation solutions from the initial engineering phase through to commissioning.This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for someone who enjoys programming systems from scratch and being involved in solving complex controls and automation challenges.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and program industrial control systems.Develop PLC programs from scratch based on customer specifications and control narratives.Develop and configure HMI and SCADA applications.Work with PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial control systems.Review control system specifications, P&IDs, electrical drawings and customer requirements.Develop control logic, sequences and functional specifications.Perform system testing, troubleshooting and debugging.Support FAT, SAT, startup and commissioning activities.Work closely with customers and project teams to resolve technical issues.Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.Produce and maintain engineering and project documentation.Travel to customer sites as required for commissioning and project support.What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone with a strong technical background in industrial automation and controls, ideally with experience working for a systems integrator or engineering company.You'll ideally have:Proven experience as a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer or similar.Strong experience with PLC programming from scratch.Experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell, Siemens and/or Ignition.Experience with PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems.Ability to interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs and control system documentation.Experience with control system design and development.Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning and startup.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider engineering team.Strong communication and customer-facing skills.Experience within Oil & Gas, Data Centers, E-Houses, Power, Petrochemical, LNG or other industrial/process environments would be highly advantageous.Why Consider the Opportunity?Up to $140,000 base salaryJoin an established and growing automation and systems integration business.Work on a wide range of technically complex projects.Exposure to Data Centers, E-Houses, Oil & Gas and other industrial environments.Opportunity to work with multiple automation platforms and technologies.Be involved in projects from initial design and programming through to commissioning.Work alongside experienced Controls Engineers and automation professionals.Strong opportunity for technical and career development.Competitive benefits package.Interested?If you're a Controls Engineer or Automation Engineer looking for your next opportunity and want to work on technically challenging projects across a range of industries, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today for a confidential conversation about the opportunity.
