The Reading Intervention Teacher will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, intervention teams, and campus administration to support student growth and improve academic outcomes through data-driven instruction and evidence-based interventions.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited universityValid Texas teaching certificate appropriate for assignmentESL certification preferredExperience in elementary reading instruction and intervention preferredStrong knowledge of literacy development, reading strategies, and intervention programsMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Provide small-group and/or individualized reading intervention aligned to student needsUtilize assessment data to identify skill deficits and monitor student progressCollaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, interventionists, and administrators to support student achievementAssist in developing intervention plans and progress monitoring systems for struggling readersImplement research-based instructional strategies and interventionsMaintain accurate records of student progress and intervention documentationParticipate in PLCs, RTI/MTSS meetings, and campus professional developmentBuild positive relationships with students, staff, and parentsSupport campus academic goals and initiatives related to reading achievement and student growthMaintain a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of reading development and intervention strategiesAbility to analyze academic data and adjust instruction accordinglyStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsAbility to build positive relationships with students and staffAbility to motivate struggling learners and foster academic confidenceWorking Conditions:Maintain emotional control under stressFrequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting instructional materialsWork collaboratively in a fast-paced school environmentNorthside Intermediate is committed to building strong relationships, high expectations, and student success while serving 4th and 5th grade students in Henderson ISD.
