Please review the details below to ensure you understand the nature of roster employment:Hourly Employment: Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.Limited Hours: Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city's pension system.While roster positions do not include benefits, they are often a pathway to full-time, benefited employment with the City. We are seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals, with positive attitudes, strong work ethic, and passion for making a difference in Greensboro.We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to serve as an Athletic Field Maintenance Worker who is passionate about building better lives and a better community. Perform daily operations and maintenance of athletic fields, grounds maintenance and park operations including mowing, cleaning, repair and maintenance of facilities and janitorial work.Duties to include:Maintain grounds by weeding, mowing and fertilizing lawns; plant, water, trim and prune landscaped areas consisting of bushes, trees, flowers, shrubs and lawns.Rake leaves and clear debris from walks, fields and other facilities.Inspect parks and facilities for repair needs; review maintenance needs with assigned supervisor; perform minor maintenance and repairs to fences, bleachers and sprinkler systems.Operate various landscape and construction equipment including power and hand tools, mowing equipment, rakes, pitch forks, weed eaters, brooms, chain saws and other related equipment; maintain tools and equipment; adhere to safe work practices.The physical duties of the job include but are not limited to; bending, stooping, and heavy lifting up to 50lbs. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work independently.This job is Non-Exempt under FLSA policy.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma/GEDValid Driver's LicenseAn Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):Experience in turf/grass maintenance operations and athletic fields.Prior work experience operating powered turf maintenance equipment and hand-powered equipment.Experience in mowing equipment and maintenance operationsStrong customer service skills01Do you have a Valid Driver's License?YesNo02What is your highest level of Education?
