Assistant Controller

Role Description The Assistant Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Irvine, CA, responsible for supporting the company’s accounting and financial operations. Day-to-day activities include assisting with the month-end and year-end close process, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate general ledger records. The role will help produce financial statements and management reports, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls. The Assistant Controller will collaborate with internal teams on financial analysis, cash flow monitoring, and process improvements, and assist with audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements. This position also contributes to the development of scalable financial infrastructure to support iThrive’s growth.QualificationsStrong foundation in general accounting principles, including experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, including preparing financial statements and management reports.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in a growing or multi-entity environment.Comfort working with accounting and ERP software, advanced Excel skills, and a willingness to learn new financial systems.Knowledge of internal controls, audit support, and compliance with GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance and non-finance teams.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.Experience in technology, workforce, or platform-based businesses is beneficial, as is familiarity with commission or marketplace economics.ITARThis position requires use of information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
