IT Production Support Assistant

Job Title: IT Production Support AssistantLocation: Downey, CA 90242 (Hybrid)Duration: ContractWork Authorization: Only USC and GC candidates are preferred.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced IT Production Support Assistant to support production applications in mainframe and mid-range computing environments. The candidate will work under the guidance of a team lead or section manager and will be responsible for monitoring, scheduling, troubleshooting, and supporting production jobs in a 24/7 operational environment.Key Responsibilities* Support production jobs in IBM mainframe and mid-range server environments.* Perform job scheduling, execution, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution using Control-M.* Support mainframe COBOL applications and promote program packages using Endevor.* Manage and update incident tickets using service management tools such as Cherwell.* Coordinate mainframe console operations, device assignments, and operator messages.* Execute jobs according to predefined schedules while ensuring compliance with operational standards.* Review and maintain procedural documentation.* Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and team presentations.* Work collaboratively in a fast-paced production support environment.Required Skills* Strong customer service and communication skills.* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.* Good organizational and interpersonal skills.* Flexibility to work in rotational shifts.* Leadership and team collaboration skills.Required Experience* Minimum 2 years of experience within the last 5 years in IBM mainframe operations and production control environment.* Hands-on experience with Control-M for job scheduling, monitoring, submitting, holding, and cancelling jobs.* Minimum 2 years of experience working in a data center environment and managing incident tickets using tools like Cherwell.* Minimum 2 years of experience using Endevor for managing application programs, JCL, PROCS, and control statements.* 1 year of experience operating commercial high-speed printers such as Canon varioPRINT 6220 TITAN MICR.Education* High School Diploma or equivalent required.Additional Information* This is a 24/7/365 support environment.* Candidates must be flexible to work day, swing, overnight, and weekend shifts with advance notice.* Hybrid work schedule (onsite + telework).
