Financial Controller

SUMMARY Responsible for the overall accounting operation, including financial reporting and budgeting.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOverall operation of accounting, including financial reports and budget.Oversight, management, and evaluation of accounting staff (including payroll administrator). Assure that accounting personnel are properly trained, motivated, and directed to fulfill their responsibilities.Review all journal entries for financial statementsAnalysis of financial statements and preparation of special reportsReview accounts payables and receivables for accuracyEvaluate credit applications and oversee collection efforts.Maintain insurance records (property, casualty, fleet, workers comp, etc.) and provide information to obtain insurance quotes.Prepare government and regulatory tax filings.Direct company’s annual audit.Comply with company policies and procedures.Additional duties as assigned by management.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEUndergraduate degree with focus on accounting and/or financeFive years managing financial/accounting departmentThree years experience in manufacturing related environmentProven ability to analyze financial statements and identify potential problemsCandidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:CPAExperience in the corrugated industryExperience in cash managementGood communication skillsTECHNICAL SKILLSComputer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel as well as accounting software)Proficient knowledge and application of accounting principlesKnowledge of tax codes and regulatory requirementsQuality standards – both ISO and QSPHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear and sit.
