Prevention Specialist

We are looking for a Prevention Specialist to perform duties to plan and implement community/school-based prevention counseling and social skills programs that include education, prevention, and referral services to program participants, families, and the community at large.Essential ResponsibilitiesConduct assessments throughout the client's engagement with the program. Implement prevention counseling curriculum to appropriate fidelity levels. Develop an individualized prevention counseling service plan. Utilizing varied treatment models to assist clients in building resiliency. Monitor care to determine if additional services are needed. Maintain files on caseload and ensure all required documentation is completed. Complete all reports and documentation required within appropriate time frames. Research and plan education, prevention, and social skills development presentations. Foster positive relationships with the assigned school to provide effective services to students.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science or related field with an understanding of risk and protective factors relative to behavioral health counseling and prevention theory and practice for youth. A Master's degree in a social or behavioral science or related field is preferred. Expected to maintain a professional demeanor, respect for authority, appropriate interaction skills, and maintain ethical and confidentiality standards. Requires the ability to perform public speaking duties such as curriculum delivery and other presentations. Experience providing direct care services to youth in an educational setting is preferred. Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential information. Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation.
