TITLE: WELDERDEPT.: MANUFACTURINGREPORTS TO: Production supervisor/ Weld leadEXEMPT STATUS:JOB SUMMARY: Perform fitting and welding of structural and pipe weldments. Handle, cut, and perform weld preparation and completed welds in accordance with applicable welding procedures and codes. Use GMAW and GTAW welders and cutting and shaping tools to meet drawing requirements.INTERACTION WITH: QUALITYRESPONSIBILITIES:1. Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures2. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on3. Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)4. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded5. Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces6. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)7. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws8. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safetyRECOMMENDED POSITION REQUIREMENTS:1. 2-3 years work experience or equivalent school experience in welding profession.2. Good understanding of inspection methods and techniques3. Must be able to read/interpret blue prints and have a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing4. Fork lift operating experience.5. Good oral and written communication skills.6. Some heavy lifting required.7. Fabrication tooling knowledge( drill press, hydraulic press, band saw, belt sander)ONGOING TRAINING REQUIREMENTS1. Pass three weld tests to ADM procedures within the first month of employment: procedures to include GTAW stainless to stainless pipe, GTAW steel to steel pipe, GMAW steel to steel pipe or structural.2. Other training as required.
