Hardscaping / Planting Team Leader
Job Description
Role ObjectiveThe Team Leader oversees the transformation of residential outdoor spaces. You will lead a crew in the installation of complex hardscapes, integrated low-voltage lighting systems, critical drainage solutions, and "finishing touch" softscaping. You are the bridge between the design plan and a functional, beautiful reality.BilingualKey ResponsibilitiesHardscape & Pavers: Lead the installation of pavers and retaining walls. Ensure structural integrity and aesthetic precision.Drainage Systems: Install and troubleshoot site drainage, including French drains, catch basins, NDS systems, and proper grading to ensure water moves away from structures.Low-Voltage Lighting: Layout and install outdoor lighting systems (transformers, wiring, and fixtures). Perform "night-aiming" adjustments to ensure optimal curb appeal.Planting & Softscape: Interpret planting plans to install trees, shrubs, and perennials. Understand proper planting depths, soil amendments, and initial watering requirements.On-Site Leadership: Direct a crew of 2–4, manage daily logbooks, and track material usage to ensure the project stays on budget.Equipment Operation: Proficient use of skid steers and other landscape equipment.Required Skills & ExperienceExperience: 3+ years in landscape construction with a focus on "Design-Build" projects.Technical Knowledge: * Drainage: Ability to use a laser level to establish proper pitch.Lighting: Basic understanding of voltage drop and electrical load for low-voltage systems.Horticulture: General knowledge of local plant species and their sunlight/water needs.Project Mastery: Ability to read landscape designs, job orders, and scopes of work.Communication: Ability to communicate with customers, team members, and our managers.The Ideal Candidate Is:Detail-Oriented: You notice a crooked paver or a buried light fixture from 50 feet away.Problem-Solver: You can pivot the drainage plan if you hit an unexpected underground obstacle.Mentor: You enjoy teaching the "why" behind the "how" to your junior crew members.
