Vertical Milling MachinistThe CNC Vertical Mills Machinist plays a critical role in producing high-quality, intricate parts within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires proficiency in setting up and operating advanced CNC vertical machining centers (Brother, OKK, and YCM), employing MDI (Manual Data Input) programming, and performing manual inspections to ensure precision. By leveraging strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, the Machinist will troubleshoot issues, work with diverse materialssuch as aluminum, plastic, and steeland drive continuous improvement throughout the machining process.By collaborating with cross-functional teams and maintaining clear communication across shifts, the CNC Vertical Mills Machinist ensures all parts meet Dahlquist Machine by Fathom's rigorous quality standards and on-time delivery goals. This role demands the ability to make critical decisions under pressure, a commitment to safe work practices, and strict adherence to company EH&S policies. Through exceptional technical expertise and dedication to efficiency, the CNC Vertical Mills Machinist propels the growth of Dahlquist Machine by Fathom and aligns with Fathom's on-demand manufacturing vision.Key Responsibilities:Set up and operate CNC vertical machining centers (Brother, YCM, and OKK)Perform MDI (Manual Data Input) programming for efficient part productionConduct manual inspections using gauges and instruments to ensure part quality before submitting to the Quality Department for CMM inspectionInterpret complex 2-D drawings and apply GD&T principlesMonitor and inspect parts throughout the machining processFollow company quality and safety proceduresCommunicate and collaborate with team members to resolve technical issuesParticipate in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve processesQualifications/Requirements:Associate degree in a relevant field, or 3+ years of experience in milling, or 5+ years of overall CNC machining experienceFamiliarity with Brother, OKK, or YCM machines preferredExperience with various materials, such as aluminum, plastic, and steelAbility to read and interpret blueprintsProficiency in manual inspection using gauges and instruments in support of CMM inspectionStrong work ethic and attention to detailAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentCapable of handling sensitive and confidential informationGood communication skills for effective teamworkHours: 5:45a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Monday - ThursdayEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledThis employer participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. If E-Verify cannot confirm that you are authorized to work, this employer is required to give you written instructions and an opportunity to contact Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Social Security Administration (SSA) so you can begin to resolve the issue before the employer can take any action against you, including terminating your employment.
