Prep Cook
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Duties
Prepare ingredients and assemble components for menu items according to standardized recipes and specifications
Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills
Support cooking processes by following established procedures and safety guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards
Assist with menu planning and ingredient inventory management
Handle food safely during preparation, storage, and handling to prevent contamination
Support catering events and special meal requests as needed
Ensure all food handling practices meet industry regulations and restaurant standards
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service
Skills
Experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food industry settings preferred
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices
Proficiency in menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety protocols
Excellent knife skills and ability to handle various kitchen tools safely
Familiarity with food handling regulations and sanitation standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Prior experience in restaurant or catering environments is advantageous
Knowledge of food service operations, including serving and food presentation skills
