Caregiver for Elderly - Killeen
Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their safety and well-being. This position requires a patient demeanor, strong observational skills, and the ability to follow care plans effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes in health status to appropriate personnel.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
- Observe and document patient behavior and health changes accurately.
- Administer medications as prescribed while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Support clients with mobility and physical activities to promote independence.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care or caregiving is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures related to caregiving.
- Ability to prepare meals that meet nutritional guidelines.
- Familiarity with vital sign monitoring techniques is a plus.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes.
- Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately.
- Must be able to lift or assist clients as needed for mobility support.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is desirable but not required.
