The primary focus is to maximize equipment quality, uptime, rate, and yield. This position supports plant operations through advanced troubleshooting and maintenance activities and is ideal for individuals with strong electrical and mechanical aptitude who are committed to safety and continuous improvement.Compensation: $30.50/HourWhat You’ll DoPerform electrical maintenance on equipment while following all safety procedures, including lockout/tagoutEnsure all guards and safety equipment are properly installed and functioning before returning equipment to operationMonitor inventory levels of parts, equipment, and supplies; place orders and verify receipts as neededUtilize manual and computerized maintenance systems to track, inspect, and report equipment statusRead and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and repair equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and quality issues, escalating concerns as neededPerform breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeover tasks on production equipmentIdentify and report safety, quality, and operational issues when unable to correct independentlyObserve mechanical devices in operation and use precision instruments to diagnose problemsFabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipmentMaintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with all safety regulationsOperate powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes as requiredSupport continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to problem-solving effortsComply with OSHA safety standards and promote a culture of safetyPerform additional duties as assigned by the supervisorWho You AreMinimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in a maintenance roleHigh school diploma or equivalent required; apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent training preferredProficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and technical drawingsStrong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical systems and PLCsEffective communication skills with the ability to perform basic math calculationsDemonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environmentAbility to pass job-related testing, employment physical, and drug screeningStrong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectivelyPhysical AbilitiesLift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularlyStand or walk for extended periods throughout the shiftBend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, and reach as requiredPerform work in a manufacturing or industrial environmentWhat You’ll GetWheatland Tube at Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental coverage.
