PM&R Sports Medicine Staff Physician

Be the Difference in Veteran Care as a PM&R Sports Medicine Staff PhysicianThe VA Los Angeles Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced PM&R Staff Sports Medicine Physician to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services to Veterans and their caregivers across a full continuum of care.Key Responsibilities:Individualized Care Plans: Develop and implement personalized plans of care for Veterans to prevent, manage, or limit impairments and disabilities while enhancing functional abilities, independence, and quality of life.Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physiatrists, physicians, chiropractors, nurse practitioners, psychologists, occupational and physical therapists, recreation therapists, blind rehab specialists, exercise physiologists, and kinesiotherapists.Function Optimization: Focus on evaluating, restoring, and optimizing function through physical modalities, therapeutic exercise, pain management, adaptive equipment, environmental modification, education, and consultation.Comprehensive Rehabilitation: Utilize diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive methodologies for a wide range of neurological, orthopedic, medical, psychiatric, and surgical conditions.Neuro-Muscular Rehabilitation: Provide outpatient neuro-muscular rehabilitation, including peripheral joint injections, trigger-point injections, diagnostic ultrasound-guided injections, electromyography (EMG), and botulinum toxin injections.Referral Coordination: Direct coordinated referrals for Physical and Occupational therapy, Chiropractic care, and complementary and alternative treatment modalities.Specialized Areas: Handle specialized areas such as TBI clinic, and pain management based on interests and expertise.Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Plans: Diagnose, treat, and direct interdisciplinary rehabilitation plans for individuals with acute and chronic disability and pain to maximize their functional status.Condition Management: Assess and manage conditions such as acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, ALS, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Polytrauma, and amputation care.Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am-4:30pmQualifications:·        Must be a U.S. Citizen·        Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine·        Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license·        Must have completed residency in an accredited core specialty·        Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specialty area·        Preferred minimum of 5 years of practice but not required.·        Preferred: Fellowship training in Sports Medicine preferred.Benefits and Features:Salary Range: $255,000-$315,000PTO: 50–55 days of PTO annually (26/13 days of annual/sick leave, 11 holidays,)Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.Dental, Medical, Life Insurance, Pension, TSP (401K) with 5% match, Survivor Benefits Up to $1,000 or more annually and up to 5 days paid absence for CMEEducation Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) up to $200,000 in qualified loan reimbursementService without strings: No employment contracts or restrictive covenantsOpportunity for UCLA Geffen School of Medicine Faculty appointmentPublic Service Loan Forgiveness ProgramCompensation Information:$255000.00 / Annually - $315000.00 / Annually
