Plant Loader Operator

Job Title Operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor type vehicle equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, to load trucks, also operates mechanical dredge. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material. Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. Perform required inspections (tires, oil, water system, hydraulic system, windows, lights, brakes, oil, etc.) to ensure that equipment is in safe working conditions. Report immediately any equipment damages or hazards to equipment. Attend required safety and production meetings with supervisor for planning and organizing current and future delivery schedules, and worksite safety policies and procedures. Attend company sponsored training events, including required licensing and/or education requirements targeted for continuing personal growth and development. Report to Safety Director any failure to adhere to OSHA, LB757, EEO and/or Overland Ready Mixed professional standards. Other duties may be assigned. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and previous heavy equipment moving experience concentrating on loaders, backhoe, track backhoe, and any other specialty equipment with some manual labor on plant equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid NE Driver's License and be insurable under the company insurance program Qualifications Must be able to work according to seasonal and construction demand schedule, may also be required to work 5 to 6 days a week. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Other Skills and Abilities Must be able to operate with minimal supervision, be a trouble shooter and take initiative to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems. Must be able to work well with others. Must be able to do precast when needed, assist in shop and willing to operate loader at other locations. Good communication skills with office and dispatchers.
