Commissioning Engineer

About The RolePraetorian Power Protection has partnered with a premier General Contractor client to identify a highly capable Commissioning (Cx) Manager to support our Mission Critical group in Portland, Oregon.We are seeking a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise and a proven track record of managing complex commissioning efforts. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and field execution to ensure the seamless delivery of sophisticated power and cooling infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning: Develop and manage a comprehensive commissioning plan and integrated schedule, covering all phases from initial inspection and startup to final testing and closeout. Field Leadership: Lead on-site commissioning activities, directing internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors while enforcing strict safety compliance with NFPA 70E and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) requirements. Digital Management: Implement and oversee commissioning management software—including BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Build, and CxAlloy—to track execution and maintain rigorous documentation. Stakeholder Coordination: Interface directly with the client and the client’s Commissioning Agent (CxA) to define and deliver project-specific requirements, test scripts, and turnover documentation. Technical Oversight: Manage comprehensive technical reviews, including MEP systems, QA/QC coordination, load-bank planning, equipment startup, and Factory Witness Testing (FWT). Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a lead consultant during design reviews, scope matrix development, budgeting, and script feasibility for high-performance building systems.
