What you will do
Support Safety and Security Certification activities, including documentation, tracking, and verification
Assist in confirming systems, processes, and changes meet defined safety requirements
Develop certification materials, matrices, and supporting documentation
Conduct compliance reviews of policies, procedures, and operational practices
Identify compliance gaps and support corrective actions
Perform technical reviews of safety and compliance documentation
Support internal and external audits, including preparation of evidence packages
Document findings, observations, and recommendations
Track corrective actions and support closure verification
Maintain document control, versioning, and organized records
Coordinate with safety, engineering, operations, and compliance teams
What you bring
5 plus years of experience in safety certification, compliance, or safety programs
Experience in transit, transportation, or other regulated environments preferred
Experience supporting documentation, compliance reviews, or safety assessments
Experience with audits or regulatory reporting
Strong attention to detail and technical writing skills
Working knowledge of safety management systems
Familiarity with OSHA, FTA, or similar regulatory frameworks
Nice to have
Experience supporting Safety and Security Certification programs
Familiarity with State Safety Oversight or APTA standards
Certifications such as ASP, CSP, SMS, or similar
Experience supporting rail, bus, or multimodal transit systems
Experience developing compliance matrices, hazard logs, or certification documentation

Compensation
$40.87 - $55.29 Hourly, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications
