Construction Manager

RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Construction Manager in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time contract Office Based/Field Based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits. Overview of YOUR role as a Construction Manager As a Construction Manager, you will provide daily construction, administrative and technical management of solar construction projects delivering energy savings for public, institutional, government and commercial customers. This role requires solar experience and the ability to manage complex facility infrastructure construction while ensuring quality control, project delivery on time and on budget, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations. You will provide daily construction reporting, manage subcontractors and vendors, and ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. As a Construction Manager YOU will: · Provide daily construction, administrative and technical management of solar construction projects delivering energy savings for public, institutional, government and commercial customers · Assist the Senior Project Manager as required with project accounting, budgeting, project schedule and tracking, reporting quality management and internal communications · Provide daily construction reporting of vital, consistent log documenting on-site events, including labor, equipment, materials, weather, and safety · Ensure compliance with our client's financial policies and procedures to include revenue recognition policies and project set up rules · Serve and assist as a liaison between the business office and operations · Direct interface with our client's customers managing customer service, relationships and contractual obligations · Assist the Engineering and Development team and the Senior Project Manager in project design and development including scope, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, installation and project scheduling · Regularly monitor assigned project performance and cost estimates to forecast estimates through to project completion for reasonableness against plans and actual expense rate · Review subcontractor and vendor bids solicited by the Senior Project Manager to help determine scope, schedule, timely delivery for all project related materials, equipment and construction services · Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding customer expectations · Maintain and update project schedules to reflect current information, monitor critical path activities and tracking of outstanding items · Verify scheduling, delivery, and inventory of owner-supplied materials · Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing project expenditures and job cost accounting processes: including accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, monthly forecasting and tracking · Conduct site audits and participate in safety meetings to assure site safety plans are being followed · Use Procore proficiency managing multiple modules including RFIs, submittals, inspections, drawings, daily logs, observations, incidents, schedule, and photos · Perform other duties as required YOU are the ideal Construction Manager candidate if you have: · High School diploma or the equivalent · Solar experience (required) · Background in Electrical, Civil, or Wireless/Telecommunications (cell tower infrastructure) · 5+ years of experience with college background, schooling, or solar certification OR 10+ years of experience with no degree · Minimum of 5 years industrial power, electrical, mechanical or engineering construction project management experience focusing on complex facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls and automation, and energy services · Comfortable using a computer and job-site software · Experience with Procore and Daily Logs (required) · Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes · Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships · Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills · Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project · Valid Driver's License in good standing, issued by resident state It's a BONUS if you have: · Completion or progress toward engineering, technical, or industry-related education · Demonstrated work experience with several of the following energy efficiency disciplines - direct digital energy controls systems, variable frequency drives, high efficiency motors, central plant chiller and boiler installations, lighting retrofits, renewable energy technology, warranty and service requirements · Advanced Procore proficiency · Experience with renewable energy projects beyond solar About Our CLIENT Our Client is a leading cleantech integrator and renewable energy solutions provider, delivering comprehensive energy efficiency and infrastructure upgrades to organizations across North America and Europe.
