Position OverviewBusek Company – Natick, MABusek is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop real-time firmware and control software for spacecraft power and propulsion systems. This role is critical to transitioning embedded software capability in-house and supporting mission-critical DoD programs.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop embedded firmware for microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGA-based systemsImplement real-time control and monitoring algorithms for power processing and propulsion systemsIntegrate software with digital hardware (PPU/APU and related avionics systems)Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, debugging, and system validationDevelop and maintain low-level communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, custom protocols)Collaborate with electrical engineers on system architecture and integrationTransition embedded software responsibilities from external subcontractors to internal ownershipEnsure compliance with aerospace, reliability, and DoD cybersecurity/CUI requirementsBasic QualificationsBS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (MS preferred)Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systemsExperience with microcontrollers and real-time embedded developmentFamiliarity with hardware/software integration and debuggingPreferred QualificationsExperience with RTOS-based systemsBackground in aerospace, defense, robotics, or power electronics applicationsExperience with FPGA-integrated embedded systemsKnowledge of control systems or spacecraft subsystemsExperience supporting flight or mission-critical software developmentU.S. Citizenship RequirementDue to the nature of work performed under U.S. government contracts and applicable security and contractual requirements, this position is limited to U.S. citizens.Powered by JazzHRrvWcdbogR3
