Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician

Position SummaryMonitor, act upon, and assist others with internal and external audits, customer feedback, process performance, product conformance, preventive and correction actions, and changes that affect the quality and business management systems. Assist with putting in place tests to determine quality of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products. Control process and product performance through the management of tests, documentation of procedures, and education and training of employees.Essential Job Functions:Quality, Quality, Quality!Perform tests on product using current equipment and following standard methodsMaintain laboratory recordsComply with all processes and procedures of the BRC to assure safe, quality productEnsure the availability of resources and information necessary to support the operation, monitoring, and continual improvement of quality system processesDetermine the monitoring and measurement to be undertaken to provide evidence of conformity to product specificationsManage the processes involved with the calibration of measuring and monitoring devices used to ensure conformity of product specificationsWork with others to determine the necessary competence for personnel performing work affecting product qualityMaintain appropriate records of education, training, skills and experienceAssist with communication regarding the effectiveness of the quality management system via meetings, corrective and preventive actions and project teamsNon-essential Job Functions:Schedule RequirementsOther duties as required or directed will occasionally arise.Normal: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and FridayRequired if needed to complete any essential Job Function: Saturday and SundayMinimum QualificationsWilling and Able to perform all job essential functions with or without accommodationWilling and Able to be exposed to/perform all physical and environmental factorsEducation: Technical/Associates Degree in Dairy/Food Science or equivalent subjectExperience: 13 years of dairy related positionPreferred QualificationsWilling and Able to perform all job essential functions with or without accommodationWilling and Able to be exposed to/perform all physical and environmental factorsCertifications: Forklift CertificationEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Dairy/Food Science or equivalent subjectExperience: 47 years of dairy related position, including training in HACCPKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesKnowledge:Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of computer software and other standard office electronics.
