Process Engineer
Position Summary:We are seeking a driven, hands-on Process Engineer to support a manufacturing facility focused on welding, metal fabrication, and machining. This role is highly floor-focused and centered on improving efficiency, optimizing processes, and driving measurable results in a fast-paced production environment.Role Overview:Floor-focused engineer driving efficiency improvementsLean-oriented (not a purely Lean role)Works alongside a Lean resource focused on broader, multi-site initiativesKey Responsibilities:Identify and execute floor-level efficiency improvementsConduct time studies, waste reduction, and material flow improvementsImplement 5S, standard work, and setup reductionLead layout changes and line rearrangementEvaluate and improve overall production flowTroubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actionsDevelop and maintain work instructions and process documentationSupport new product launches and process validationDrive continuous improvement initiativesIdeal Background:Lean / continuous improvement mindsetStrong shop floor presence (hands-on, not desk-focused)Experience in manufacturing (metal preferred: welding, machining, sheet metal, metallurgy)Open to other industries (e.g., plastics) with transferable skillsProven ability to identify problems and drive changeQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field2+ years of manufacturing experienceKnowledge of production processes and optimizationAbility to read technical drawingsStrong problem-solving and communication skillsPreferred:Experience with robotic welding or CNC machiningSix Sigma certificationFamiliarity with ERP systemsWhat We Offer:Competitive compensation and benefitsGrowth and advancement opportunitiesTeam-oriented, safety-focused environment
