Quality Control Inspector
Quality InspectorEnsure products meet established quality standards by examining and testing at various stages of the production process.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform visual inspection of weld quality and dimensional checks of detail parts.Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.Measure product dimensions using rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.Read blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications and testing procedures.Record inspection/test data including dimensions, defects, grades, and quantities.Mark items with details such as grade or acceptance-rejection status.Notify supervisors or production personnel of problems and recommend corrective actions.Qualifications and RequirementsStrong written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of basic shop mathematics.Experience in heavy structural fabrication and ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.Knowledge of welding processes.Physical Demands / Work EnvironmentAbility to stand for long periods and occasionally pull, push, carry, or lift up to 50 lbs.Occasional bending, squatting, or crouching with frequent handling of tools, equipment, and material.Ability to work in inclement weather conditions including cold, heat, and humidity.Safety RequirementsAdhere to all Southland Steel Fabricators, Inc. safety rules, policies, and procedures.Maintain orderly and clean work areas and attend required safety meetings.Inspect equipment and tools daily and use hand and power tools safely.Wear appropriate PPE for specific tasks.
