Pay: $23.00–$24.00 per hour, plus a second-shift premium

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support second-shift manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for retrieving raw materials from warehouse locations, delivering them to production departments, completing accurate inventory transfers, returning unused materials, and ensuring ingredients remain available for compounding and batch-production activities.
The Material Handler will use forklifts, pallet jacks, handheld barcode scanners, ERP systems, and other material-handling equipment. The ideal candidate has warehouse, inventory, logistics, food-manufacturing, or production-support experience and understands the importance of material accuracy, lot traceability, safety, and food-quality compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Material Handling and Production Support
Review production schedules, material requests, batch requirements, and work instructions.
Retrieve raw materials from designated warehouse locations.
Verify item numbers, descriptions, lot numbers, quantities, expiration dates, and material status.
Deliver ingredients and other materials to compounding and production areas according to schedule.
Return unused or partially used raw materials to the appropriate warehouse locations.
Ensure opened materials are properly sealed, labeled, identified, and stored.
Replenish ingredients, solutions, propylene glycol, ethanol totes, and other production materials.
Assist with staging materials for upcoming batches and production orders.
Support batch processing and production activities when directed.
Pull samples of raw materials and finished products for Quality Control evaluation.
Deliver samples to the laboratory or designated testing area.
Assist with resampling materials when additional testing is required.
Maintain material availability to prevent production delays.
Inventory Control
Complete inventory transfers between warehouse, staging, production, Quality Control, and storage locations.
Use handheld barcode scanners and ERP systems to record material movement accurately.
Maintain complete lot-number and product traceability.
Follow First Expired, First Out inventory practices.
Monitor expiration dates and report expired, damaged, unidentified, or questionable materials.
Assist with physical inventory counts and routine cycle-counting activities.
Research and report inventory discrepancies.
Verify that physical inventory matches system quantities and locations.
Maintain accurate records of material movements, returns, samples, and adjustments.
Place materials in their correct system and physical locations.
Help maintain organized warehouse and production-staging areas.
Equipment Operation and Safety
Safely operate sit-down or stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment.
Complete required equipment inspections before use.
Move pallets, drums, totes, containers, and other raw materials safely.
Follow load-capacity, stacking, traffic, and pedestrian-safety requirements.
Use proper spill-prevention and chemical-handling procedures.
Immediately report leaks, damaged containers, spills, unsafe conditions, and equipment problems.
Follow all safety procedures, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, food-safety requirements, and work instructions.
Wear all required personal protective equipment.
Maintain clean, safe, organized, and inspection-ready warehouse and production areas.
Support spill cleanup and material containment according to established procedures.
Perform additional warehouse, inventory, or production-support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED is required.
A minimum of three months of related experience or training is preferred.
Previous warehouse, material-handling, logistics, inventory, manufacturing, or production experience is preferred.
Ability to read and understand English work instructions, labels, safety information, reports, and training materials.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP and warehouse-management systems.
Ability to use handheld barcode scanners accurately.
Basic math, counting, measurement, and inventory skills.
Ability to accurately verify item numbers, lot numbers, quantities, and warehouse locations.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
Ability to understand and follow SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs, and job-specific instructions.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work the complete second-shift schedule.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted hours when required.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with warehouse, production, compounding, and Quality Control teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift certification or previous forklift experience.
Experience handling drums, totes, pallets, chemicals, or food ingredients.
Experience using an ERP, warehouse-management, or inventory-control system.
Previous experience using handheld barcode scanners.
Experience following FEFO inventory practices.
Knowledge of lot control and material traceability.
Previous food, flavor, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or ingredient-manufacturing experience.
Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, SQF, allergen-control, and food-safety requirements.
Experience supporting compounding, batching, or manufacturing operations.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, push, pull, squat, and perform repetitive movements.
Ability to climb step ladders and safely access warehouse storage areas.
Ability to move drums, totes, pallets, and containers using approved material-handling equipment.
Ability to work around forklifts, moving machinery, chemicals, food ingredients, strong aromas, and production noise.
Ability to work in areas with varying temperatures.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
