Who You Are:
We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to support a client mobile engineering organization responsible for backend platforms, device management services, and customer-facing systems that power a large-scale mobile experience. You will drive development of mission-critical mobile platform services, including device lifecycle management, provisioning, mobile account systems, and carrier integrations. You will work in an agile team environment where professional respect and communication are key, applying modern mobile and cloud technologies while serving as a creative problem solver, technical authority, and resource for the team.
As a Consultant, you’ll contribute to client engagements by delivering insights, building deliverables, and leading workstreams. You’ll be expected to bring strong analytical thinking, and a proactive mindset to solve client problems and drive transformation.
Role and Responsibilities:
You may work on various projects throughout your career with Excelacom. The roles and responsibilities noted below pertain to the specific role listed above.
Lead engineering delivery across shifting priorities, mentoring team members and driving accountability, collaboration, and technical direction
Design, build, test, and support scalable full-stack services for mobile device provisioning, activation, account management, and carrier integrations
Develop clean, extensible Java/Spring Boot services and modern web applications using Angular or React, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, Kafka, and AWS
Own solution architecture and technical designs, troubleshoot complex distributed-system issues, and support integrations across internal and carrier platforms
Apply Agile, paired programming, test-driven development, CI/CD, and production support best practices to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions
Collaborate with engineering, product, scrum, and project teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions and document key learnings
Evaluate and champion AI/ML capabilities and AI-powered development tools to improve platform features, engineering productivity, testing, and operations
Work closely with clients to identify process improvements
Analyze business challenges and recommend technology-driven solutions
Support system development, integration, and testing activities
Develop presentations, deliverables, and implementation plans
Assist with proposals and business development efforts
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of software development experience, including 8+ years with Java, 5+ years with Spring Boot, and 5+ years leading development teams
Expertise in Java/Spring Boot and modern front-end development using Angular 2+ or ReactJS, HTML, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and CSS
Strong experience with REST/web services, SQL (MySQL/Postgres), NoSQL (DynamoDB/MongoDB/Neo4J), Kafka, and JPA/Hibernate
3+ years of AWS cloud development experience, including server/serverless architectures, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD practices
Experience designing and supporting large-scale, highly available enterprise applications, including automated testing and test-driven development
Strong knowledge of software architecture, OO design, concurrency, data structures, algorithms, performance, and reliability best practices
Demonstrated technical leadership, communication, conflict resolution, mentoring, and ability to guide teams through ambiguity and complex architectural decisions
1+ years of experience with AI-powered development tools or AI/ML integration
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field
Prior consulting experience – in an agile environment – with a leading strategy firm, consulting practice, or consulting technology firm
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with mobile carrier systems, device provisioning APIs, telecom/MVNO integrations, and mobile device lifecycle concepts including SIM/eSIM management
Experience using AI coding assistants and integrating AI/ML services such as AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenAI, or Hugging Face
Familiarity with generative AI use cases for code quality, test automation, data analysis, anomaly detection, workflow optimization, and AIOps
Ability to evaluate AI tools and frameworks and lead practical adoption across an engineering team
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
Prior experience in Telecommunications, Media, or Cable is highly preferred
Past success in generating new business with existing clients
Good time management and collaboration skills

Excelacom offers competitive salaries, health and wellness benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and career growth opportunities. For regular full-time employees, the estimated salary range is from $90,000 to $125,000/yr.
