Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, and deployment of electrical systems for distributed power generation and energy projects currently in development. This role emphasizes system-level electrical design, vendor integration, and hands-on engineering in a fast-paced, startup environment.The ideal candidate is comfortable working across multiple electrical architectures and technology stacks, interfacing with internal teams and external partners, and owning designs from concept through integration. We offer flexibility and endless growth opportunities to those who can harness their skills and talents and identify how and where to use them to add value.Key ResponsibilitiesInclude But Are Not Limited ToDevelop and integrate electrical systems for distributed power generation projectsSupport system-level integration of electrical and electro-mechanical subsystems across multiple vendorsDevelop electrical architectures, schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface definitionsSpecify and integrate various power electronics subsystems including VFDs, DC-DC converters, and AC inverters.Investigate, design, and support integration of battery systems, power distribution equipment, switchgear, circuit protection, and control hardware.Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to ensure proper electrical-mechanical integration with an eye towards mass production.Interface with external partner companies, vendors, and suppliers to align designs, requirements, and deliverablesSupport prototype builds, testing, commissioning, and iterative design improvementsProduce and maintain clear electrical documentation and design packagesOperate effectively in a remote, startup-style environment with a high degree of autonomy 50% travel requirement if outside the Raleigh, NC area.Skills & RequirementsEducation / ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experienceMid-career experience levelStrong foundation in low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, control systems, and genset subsystems.Experience integrating electrical systems from multiple vendors and technology stacksExperience designing to applicable codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE, and related specifications)Ability to work independently and manage multiple parallel engineering effortsStrong communication skills and comfort collaborating across disciplines and organizationsSpecific Skills / AbilitiesPower electronics: VFDs, DC-DC converters, AC invertersControl systems, PLCs, or embedded control architecturesDistributed power generation or energy systemsDesigning to applicable codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE, and related specifications)Connectorization, harnessing, and weatherproofing techniques used in automotive and genset applicationsCommissioning, troubleshooting, and field support of electrical systemsGreat Place to WorkEnjoy…A fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture focused on innovation.A flexible, autonomous work environment.A culture of respect, learning, and excellence.Experienced, highly talented experts as team peers.Growth and travel opportunities.A team of change-makers having a significant impact on people and the planet.About EdgedEdged is a fast-growing global network of carbon neutral, zero-water data centers that lead the industry in energy efficiency.
