Project Manager – Power / Utility Construction (Charlotte, NC / Southeast U.S.)POSITION SUMMARYField-based Project Manager responsible for the execution of power infrastructure construction.This role oversees projects involving:Electrical distribution systemsTransmission line constructionSubstation construction and upgradesRequires direct experience in power or utility construction; general construction and telecom backgrounds are not applicable.CORE RESPONSIBILITIESField Execution & LeadershipLead construction execution across distribution, transmission, or substation projectsDirect and coordinate crews, subcontractors, and field supervisorsDrive daily and weekly work planning on active job sitesResolve field issues in real time to maintain productionPlanning, Scheduling & DeliveryDevelop execution plans and sequencing strategiesCoordinate mobilization, access, and utility constraintsMonitor schedules and implement recovery plansCommercial & Cost ManagementTrack costs, production, and quantitiesManage subcontractor scope and change ordersIdentify and mitigate risks impacting budget and scheduleSafety & ComplianceLead site safety and enforce company standardsEnsure compliance with utility, environmental, and regulatory requirementsClient & Stakeholder ManagementAct as the primary point of contact for utility clientsLead project meetings and reportingCoordinate across field, engineering, and internal teamsESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE):5–10+ years of Project Management experience in power or utility constructionDirect experience in at least one of the following:Transmission line constructionElectrical distribution systemsSubstation constructionExperience managing field crews and subcontractors on active utility job sitesStrong understanding of:Electrical construction scopesUtility standards and constraintsConstruction sequencing in live environmentsThis role is not suited for candidates whose experience is limited to:Telecom / OSP rollout programsGeneral commercial / ICI construction onlyOffice-based project coordination rolesPREFERRED EXPERIENCEExperience in Southeast U.S. utility environmentsExperience working with utility owners (Duke, co-ops, etc.)Procore, SAP, MS Project or similarPMP or equivalentLOCATION & TRAVELBased in Southeast U.S. (Charlotte or surrounding region preferred)Approximately 50% travel to active project sitesCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS$83,800 – $163,900 annually (based on experience)401(k) with company matchHealth, dental, and vision coveragePaid travel and expensesPTO and vacation
