Junior Automation & Systems Analyst
Management Controls Inc. (MCi) is seeking a Junior Automation & Systems Analyst with a strong foundation in the Microsoft ecosystem (Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure) and a growing interest in automation and AI-driven workflows .
This is not a traditional IT support role. This position focuses on improving operational efficiency through Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, and automation initiatives , while still supporting core Microsoft-based systems and end user environments.

Management Controls is headquartered in Houston, Texas. This role will work out of the Houston office on a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office. This position is not open to relocation or sponsorship.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provision and manage user accounts, licenses, and access in Azure AD / Entra ID and Microsoft 365
Configure and deploy laptops, hardware, and software for global staff
Administer Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, device compliance, and policy enforcement
Monitor SaaS platform alerts and elevate production issues appropriately
Support Azure infrastructure components including virtual machines, storage, backups, and resource configurations
Assist in Azure Cost Management activities including monitoring consumption, reviewing cost reports, and identifying optimization opportunities
Maintain alignment of user access with HR records and organizational updates
Manage and optimize security groups, distribution lists, and role-based access controls
Conduct periodic access reviews following least-privilege security principles
Participate in compliance initiatives including SOC 2, NIST-aligned controls, and GDPR operational requirements
Assist with audit preparation, evidence collection, and documentation of internal controls
Support documentation, runbooks, and operational standards
Identify process improvements and automation opportunities
Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, Development, and Support teams
Participate in limited rotational or on-call support

You will gain hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure, cost management, identity governance, SaaS platform operations, and enterprise compliance frameworks, including SOC 2, NIST, and GDPR.
Requirements
1–2 years of experience in a SaaS, IT support, systems, or related technical role
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure fundamentals
Experience with Windows 11 and laptop support
Understanding of Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration
Experience with AI agents and utilizing them for a specific purpose
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow technically
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Power Automate
AI Certification or Certificate, specifically CoPilot
Foundational knowledge of SQL (queries, joins, basic troubleshooting)
Experience with Microsoft Azure environments, including virtual machines, Azure Backups, and basic infrastructure configuration
Experience with monitoring tools such as Microsoft 365 administration including Office 365, Exchange, and SharePoint, as well as Active Directory and Entra ID user management is highly desirable
Familiarity with file shares and backup operations
Exposure to cloud-based SaaS environments and general infrastructure troubleshooting will be beneficial
