Programmer AnalystLocation: Richmond Virginia (Hybrid Onsite)Job Summary: The Programmer Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert and in Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate within the VDOT Office of Strategic Innovation (OSI). This role is essential for OSI to leverage Microsoft's Power Platform tools for creating applications and developing automated workflows. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of these tools and experience in building applications effectively. Candidate should be able to demonstrate their working knowledge of the tools during the interview process.Key Responsibilities:Build engaging Power Apps and Power Automate applications and PowerBI applicationsWork closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into customized Power Apps solutions and automated workflowsLead workshops that encourage innovation and problem-solving skills while supporting users in app building and workflow creationDevelop and maintain technical documentation, including training guides and FAQs, ensuring resources are accessible and easy to followServe as a technical advisor throughout the project lifecycle to the business teamsAnalyze existing workflows and business processes, identifying and recommending opportunities for automation using Power AutomateIntegrate organizational change management practices into training and adoption strategies to ensure smooth transitions and high user engagementRequirements:Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate, including building custom applications and creating automated workflowsProven track record in simplifying technical concepts for diverse audiencesStrong understanding of process analysis and improvement, with the ability to identify automation opportunitiesExperience in translating business needs into technical solutions using Power Platform toolsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and conciselyAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams to foster collaboration and drive resultsFamiliarity with change management principles to ensure smooth technology adoptionStrong project management skills, capable of managing multiple applications concurrentlyPreferred Qualifications:Relevant certifications in Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, PowerBI or related Power Platform toolsBackground in data analysis, database management, or data-driven decision-makingUnderstanding of governance and best practices for Power Platform implementationExperience working within public sector or transportation-focused organizations is a plus
