The CNA is responsible for effectively interacting withthe patient, significant others and other health team members, whilemaintaining standards of professional nursing. They will also use the knowledge and skills necessary to provide carebased on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria forthe adult and geriatric population.EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:Basic knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles.1-year previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistantis preferred.High School graduate preferred.TRAINING/EXPERIENCEPrevious experience preferred, but not required.RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrates respect for patients and families.Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspectsof patient care.Identifies patient and family education needs and incollaboration with other disciplines initiates education needs according to theage of the patients.Functions as a positive role model for peers and promotes aprofessional image of Iberia Medical Center.Consistently lives by the Iberia Medical Center Standards ofPerformance.Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals.PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative ofthose that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of this job.
