Health Safety Environment Supervisor
Now Hiring: HSE Supervisor / Health, Safety & Environment Supervisor – Marine Construction (WA / OR Travel) Orion is seeking an experienced HSE Supervisor (Health, Safety & Environment Supervisor) to lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives across our marine construction and dredging operations.. This position will support a project in Washington State starting in July and requires an SSHO Level 1 designation. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of HSE experience. This role will also require travel due to project location and the ability to work extended hours across varying shifts. What You’ll Do Lead and maintain programs across: Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) programs Accident & Incident Prevention OSHA Compliance & Risk Management Workers’ Compensation & Claims Support Emergency Response & Fire Protection Environmental & Pollution Prevention Provide HSE oversight for marine construction and dredging operations Support project teams with: Site Safety Plans & Emergency Action Plans Field audits, inspections, and safety reporting Safety data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain and manage safety systems (EHS Insight) and reporting: Weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety reports Coordinate and support HSE training programs Partner with leadership, field teams, and clients to ensure a safe, compliant work environment What You Bring 5+ years of HSE / Health, Safety & Environment experience (marine construction or heavy civil preferred) SSHO Level 1 designation (required) Degree in Occupational/Industrial Safety or related field (preferred) BCSP certification (CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, STS-C, etc.) or ability to obtain within 1 year Strong knowledge of: OSHA and regulatory compliance Risk management and incident prevention Safety management systems Excellent communication and training skills Ability to influence and engage teams at all levels Work Environment & Travel Project-based role supporting Willapa Bay, WA, with travel across Washington, Oregon 75%+ travel required depending on project needs Field-based role requiring: Flexibility for extended hours, varying shifts, and weekends Work in outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain, etc.) Must be comfortable working both in the field and in office settings What Sets You Apart Strong HSE / Health, Safety & Environment leadership mindset and accountability Ability to analyze data and drive continuous improvement Proven collaboration with field teams and leadership Calm, decisive response during emergency situations Compensation & Benefits Salary: $95,000 – $110,000 (based on experience) Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, Vision Life & AD&D Insurance Short- & Long-Term Disability 401(k) with company participation Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick, Holidays, etc.) Employee Assistance Program Career Growth & Development Opportunities Candidate Response: Qualified applicants should apply through the company career page: https://www.oriongroupholdingsinc.com/about-us/careers-at-orion Candidates that do not meet the minimum requirements will not be considered.
