The camps are taught from various locations in the Black Hills, and other locations within the U.S. and abroad. For more information on camps and locations, visit https://geologyfieldcamp.sdsmt.edu. Selected candidates are expected to live at the camp during the session. There is a possibility of continued employment, dependent on performance, funding, and student enrollment.A Ph.D. in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field is required; experience teaching geology and/or engineering field camps is preferred.
