In this Senior Technical Manager role, you lead technical delivery on land development projects, ensuring design quality aligns with standards. You operate as a site design SME, guiding grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and road coordination. You review calculations, modeling, and QA/QC processes to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. You mentor engineers and stay current with Maryland and local regulations. This position emphasizes technical excellence and impact on project outcomes within a collaborative team.

ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support to land development projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and client expectations.Serve as SME for site design efforts including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and roadway coordination.Identify design risks, code conflicts, and permitting issues; propose technically sound solutions.Conduct technical reviews of design calculations, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and deliverables for accuracy and compliance.Support QA/QC processes and documentation standards.Mentor engineering staff on technical issues, career growth, and quality standards.Stay current with Maryland and local land development regulations, agency review processes, and standards.
Key requirementsBachelor in Civil EngineeringPE registrationMinimum 12 years of progressive civil engineering experience with land development and site designExpertise in engineering standards, permitting processes, and entitlement support for public agency approvalsStrong technical review skills with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, stormwater, grading, and drainage designExperience reviewing QA/QC programs and ensuring regulatory complianceExcellent written and verbal communicationProficiency with relevant design and analysis softwareclear written and verbal communicationmentoring and coachingdetail-orientedhydrologic and hydraulic modelingstormwater managementgrading and drainage design
