Paramedic - Boston Area (Part-Time)

At Cataldo, paramedic opportunities also include our special operations teams!The role of a paramedic is to provide safe and efficient response, treatment, and transportation of all persons requesting or requiring emergent or non-emergent medical services. In addition to providing treatment onsite or during ambulance transportation in trauma, cardiac, or respiratory emergencies, medics also perform complex prehospital care including inserting IV lines, administering medications, and monitoring electrocardiograms (EKGs).Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver quality patient care in accordance with clinical policies, statewide protocol, and standards of careAttend to patients in a courteous and professional mannerOperate the ambulance in accordance with safety rules and regulations; company policies; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes.Complete an ambulance and medical equipment checklist at the beginning of each assigned shift. Inspect and clean the assigned ambulance and all medical equipment to ensure compliance with minimum stock requirements and proper function.Complete and submit all documentation/paperwork PCR requirements daily.Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external individuals, including agencies, physicians, and other healthcare providers at all times.Be knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.Perform daily housekeeping duties at assigned bases of operationMaintains knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times.Must maintain a reliable attendance and reports as scheduled and requiredCompletes other duties as requested and assignedEducationHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.Associate degree or higher preferredLicensure, Certification, RegistrationCurrent valid driver's licenseCurrent Massachusetts Paramedic CertificationNational Registry Paramedic CertificationCurrent CPR and ACLS CertificationExperienceMinimum of 1 year of prior working EMT B or A experience requiredExperience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications preferred.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.Strong Organizational SkillsAnalytical skills to gather and interpret data in various situations and settings.Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion while working in a stressful environmentAbility to identify and provide practical solutions to solve problems and conflicts.Commitment to provide exemplary customer service, maintaining professional and courteous interactions at all times.RequirementsMust be 18 years of age or olderAbility to meet the essential duties and physical, mental and sensory requirements of the position at all times.Comply with UDS drug screening at any and all timesSatisfactory background check and MA CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), verification required annually.Verification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record, verification required annually.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met and maintained by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
