Apply via Dice today!Looking for a database engineer with 5+ years experience who will be responsible to task that keeps the platform stable to mitigate overall platform risk. Must have the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems quickly and communicate proposed solutions. Ability to provide coaching to jr. team mates. Will be a liaison between technology and business teams.Responsibilities:Participate in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.Utilize multiple architectural components in design and development of client requirements.Collaborate with development teams to understand data requirements and ensure the data architecture is feasible to implement and subsequently implemented accuratelyAssemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional requirements.Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency and workload managementDocument and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.Adhere to team delivery/release process and cadence pertaining to code deployment and releaseIdentify gaps in data management standards adherence, and work with appropriate partners to develop plans to close gaps.Lead concept and experimentation testing and synthesize the results to validate and improve analytical solution.Monitor key performance indicators and internal controls.Mentor more junior Data Engineers and coach the team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stackPrimary Skill-Oracle-Cassandra and No SQL database experience is a must.Required QualificationsPosition requires strong Oracle database skillsAble to troubleshoot and tune SQL performance issuesExperience with Cassandra/CQL/DataStax toolsFirm understanding of the core concepts of Cassandra and able to assist with troubleshooting problemsExperience with Oracle GoldenGate replication technologyExperience with IBM s DataStage a plusExperience with the development models such as Agile and SDLCExperience in data management best practicesSome Project Management Skills RequiredKnowledge and experience with performance tuning SQLExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWillingness to learn both new and aging technologies as neededDetail orientatedDesired QualificationsExperience working in an Agile teamNDM (ConnectDirect) and OpenSSH familiarityAutosys and DataStage experience desired
