Role DescriptionThe Director of the Arkansas Professional Educator Pathway (ArPEP) provides statewide leadership and oversight for Arkansas’s alternative educator preparation program. This position coordinates the work of the ArPEP program sites, ensuring consistent implementation of program requirements, high-quality candidate support, and alignment with state educator preparation standards. The Director is responsible for ensuring curriculum assets are aligned to standards and ensures curriculum updates are made. The position uses data from the ArPEP learning management system (Canvas) to monitor site and candidate progress and ensure that curriculum is delivered with integrity across all sites. The Director monitors program outcomes, leads continuous improvement efforts, and manages statewide data collection and reporting to support the ArPEP Annual Report, Educator Preparation Program (EPP) State Review, and Science of Reading audit requirements. The position facilitates collaboration among ArPEP site leaders, provides technical assistance, and ensures program fidelity across all locations.QualificationsMinimum ● Master’s degree in education or related field ● Active teacher licensure in Arkansas or active licensure in another state with eligible reciprocity ● A minimum of 5 years of experience teaching ● Proficiency in the Science of Reading ● Experience leading other adults ● Ability to travel for site visits throughout the year Preferred ● Successful experience facilitating adult learning and delivering professional learning ● Experience mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback on instruction to classroom teachers ● Effective written and verbal communication ● Experience leveraging technology for learning, including familiarity with learning management systems (such as Canvas or Blackboard).
