As a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, success in this position will require an individual to use prescribed methods, standard techniques and practices to perform various engineering assignments. Our goal is to provide an environment for engineering professionals to learn, grow and master necessary skills to succeed in a fast-paced and challenging environment.Will work in the roadway department4-8 years of previous experience in civil design engineeringFull-time positionPRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist roadway team with production duties such as plan preparation, design detailing, drainage calculations and reports, bid documents and cost estimatesDesign tasks may include pavement design, horizontal and vertical design, closed and open drainage system design and BMP design, quantity and construction cost determinationInvolvement in client meetings, responses to RFI's and assisting in proposal preparationAssist with the oversight of entry level engineers and budgeting of work tasksAssists with calculations, record keepingKeeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concernsCommunicate with leaders for understanding of project scope and coordinate with engineers on project requirementsApplies design standards, standard drawings, and CAD requirements for DOT and local agenciesEngage in periodic industry events and related marketing activitiesSKILL SETExperience with applicable computer software (Open Roads Designer, ProjectWise, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam)Design and plan preparation experience based on DOT and other municipality's specifications and preferred standardsExceptional written and oral communication skillsAbility to work and balance priorities amongst multiple projectsOutgoing, self-motivated, collaborative team playerProven success in delivering high quality project submittalsProfessional demeanorOvertime hours may also be requested dependent on project workloads and submittal deadlinesEDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET Accredited InstitutionRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or Engineering Intern (E.I.) certification with the ability to obtain PE License within 6 monthsBENEFITSHealth Insurance 100% premium paid for DGL employeesDental InsuranceLife InsuranceShort-Term & Long-Term Disability InsuranceVision InsuranceBereavementMilitary Leave401(k) with company matchingPaid Time Off (PTO)1 week of sick time on an annual basisReferral ProgramProfessional developmentOffice and company social events throughout the yearCompany sponsored "Give Back" volunteer events Powered by JazzHR
